The opening ceremony, keynote lectures and the concluding roundtable discussion will take place in the Burgården Konferenscenter, Skånegatan 20. All other parts of the academic programme will take place in Humanisten, Renströmsgatan 6. See the page Conference venues for further information.

Session types and times
In addition to the two plenary lectures and the concluding roundtable discussion, the academic programme at the Congress of Nordic Historians consists of 136 sessions conducted in 14–16 parallel tracks during the three congress days. There are three types of sessions: thematic sessions (TS), roundtable discussions (RD) and individual paper sessions (IP).
Thematic sessions and roundtable discussions are based on the proposals for whole sessions submitted to and accepted by the organising committee. The committee has organised the accepted proposals for individual presentations in loosely thematic paper sessions. For TS and RD sessions, the proposers are responsible for providing a chairperson or moderator. For IP sessions, the organising committee will appoint a chair who helps the participants to keep time and, when needed, lead the discussion.
Time and scheduling
The conference program contains session blocks of various lengths to meet different needs: 60, 90, 105 or 120 minutes. In the scheduling process, roundtable discussions have been allocated 90 minutes each unless the organisers have requested otherwise. For TS and IP sessions, the basic principle has been to assign each paper or presentation between 20 and 25 minutes including questions, but in some cases it will be slightly more due to practical reasons, late cancellations etc. Individual paper sessions will, as far as possible, divide the time equally between presenters, but organisers of thematic sessions and roundtable discussions are free to allocate the session time allotted to them as they see fit.
Wireless network (WiFi)
The whole of Humanisten, where all parallel sessions take place, is covered by a wireless network that is connected to eduroam. If you work at a university or other organisation with eduroam, you should connect to this network with your regular user credentials from that institution. There will also be a guest network available for all participants during the conference days; details on this will be provided during registration.
Technical equipment in the session rooms
All session rooms have a projector or monitor for presenting slideshows (Powerpoint, Keynote or equivalent). The display is connected through an HDMI cable, but there are also adapters in each room for most common types of connections such as USB-C, DisplayPort and Mini DisplayPort). Instructions for how to connect can be found in the room and there will also be volunteers and IT support staff standing by to help if there are any problems.
A wireless network is available in the session rooms (see above), but no wired network and no computers. Organisers of roundtable discussions and thematic sessions should therefore ensure that they or someone else in the session has a laptop with them that can be used to display slideshows if needed. For individual paper sessions, the chairperson will ensure that there is a computer in the room for those participants who do not want to use their own.
Participants who intend to play video or sound and think they need external speakers should notify the organising committee at nhm2022@gu.se as soon as possible. The same applies to those session organisers who are unable provide a computer and therefore need to borrow one from the organising committee.
Remote participation
The Congress of Nordic Historians has been planned as a physical conference and we are unable to provide technical support for participation via video link (e.g., Zoom or Teams) in many parallel sessions at the same time. Unfortunately, it is therefore not possible to participate remotely in the congress, either as an active participant or audience member.
